National Center for Palms & Dates

The National Center for Palms and Dates was established by Royal Decree No. (42649) dated 29/09/1432H, with the aim of creating a modern center to contribute to the development of the palm and date sector. The Center works to inform all stakeholders about its goals and services and to facilitate communication to strengthen the sector. The palm and date sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is considered one of the most prominent sectors contributing to the diversification of income sources and the enhancement of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by developing non-oil revenues and stimulating the national export ecosystem, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, especially with the doubling of planted palms producing hundreds of thousands of tons of dates annually. The palm tree was also chosen as a principal element of the Kingdom’s emblem, and dates are regarded as one of the main components of daily Saudi hospitality and among the finest offerings presented to guests.
